The name Saris traces its roots back to 1913, when the grandfather of current directors Henny and Ferry Saris opened a smithy in Eindhoven, though the trailer company itself was formally founded in 1959. Since then, Saris has grown into one of the major players in the Dutch trailer market, producing trailers by craftsmen, for craftsmen, from its facility in Hapert on a site spanning 50,000 square metres. The company reached the milestone of its 500,000th trailer in 2008, and on busy days its production lines, supported by welding robots introduced back in 1989, turn out as many as 150 trailers. In December 2024, Saris joined the Unitrailer Holding group, a step that strengthens the brand's position while keeping its Dutch facility as an important manufacturing and distribution base. Built on the values of commitment, cooperation and craftsmanship, and backed by a modular design that makes parts easy to replace, Saris trailers carry over 65 years of Dutch engineering experience.
