MANITOU - MRT2150 Privilege | 2012
As-Is, Diesel, 4x4x4 Drive, 20.6m Lifting Height, 18.1m Reach, Rough Terrain
The name Manitou goes back to 1957, when Marcel Braud, working out of the small French town of Ancenis, reversed the layout of a farm tractor and added a lifting mast and hydraulic steering to create the world's first rough-terrain forklift. Braud named his invention Manitou, a word chosen for being easy to pronounce in any language and for evoking a machine that "handles everything." The company built on that first forklift throughout the following decades, and in 1981 launched the Maniscopic range, its first telehandlers, combining the functions of a forklift, crane and loader in a single machine. In 1993 came another milestone, the MRT 1540, Manitou's first rotating telehandler capable of a full 360-degree turn, still produced today at the group's Italian factory in Castelfranco. From that single machine in a French workshop, Manitou has grown into a publicly listed group with thousands of employees worldwide, and remains one of the most recognised names in telehandlers, rough-terrain forklifts and aerial work platforms.
Used Manitou machines at PFEIFER are found in our Telehandlers category. Fixed-boom models such as the MT932, MT933 Easy 75D and MT935 75D offer diesel-powered 4x4x4 drive with lift heights around 9 metres and capacities up to 3.5 tonnes, well suited to everyday material handling on rough terrain. Larger fixed-boom machines like the MT1840 extend the range with up to 17.5 metres lift height and 4,000kg capacity. For maximum reach and versatility, the rotating MRT2660 and MRT3050 combine up to 6 tonnes capacity with a 26 metre main boom and full 360-degree rotation, several fitted with hydraulic winches, forks and hydraulic quickcouplers with fully remote controlled operation. A used Manitou telehandler stands out for combining this decades-long French engineering heritage with the rough-terrain reliability the brand built its name on.
