The name Krone goes back to 1906, when Bernard and Anna Krone founded a blacksmith's workshop in Spelle, in Germany's Lower Saxony farming region near the Dutch border, initially selling agricultural hardware, ovens and stoves. The business passed to their son, also named Bernard, in 1924, and after the Second World War the company began producing tractor wagons before opening a dedicated factory for trailer production in Werlte in 1963, prompted by an order for twenty three-axle trailers. From there, Krone grew into a pioneer of commercial vehicle technology, becoming the first manufacturer to introduce cathodic dip coating with powder processing for long-term rust protection, and later the first to present a Mega Trailer with a clear internal height of 3,000mm. Now in its fourth generation of family ownership, Krone continues to innovate with technologies such as the Safe Liner and aerodynamic Profi Liner Eco, while remaining rooted in the same values of craftsmanship and customer care the company was founded on. With over a century of German engineering heritage, Krone stands among Europe's leading trailer manufacturers.
