The name JCB stands for Joseph Cyril Bamford, who founded the company in October 1945 in a small rented garage in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire, building his first product, a tipping trailer made from war-surplus steel, and selling it for £45. Four years later Bamford launched Europe's first industrial front-end loader, and in 1953 he invented the world's first backhoe loader by attaching a hydraulic excavator arm to a front loader, a design that reshaped the construction industry. Still family-owned today, JCB has grown into one of the world's largest privately held engineering companies, with 22 plants across four continents, and has extended its product range far beyond its original excavators to include telescopic handlers, wheel loaders, and aerial work platforms.

THE JCB WORKING PLATFORM RANGE

Used and new JCB machines at PFEIFER fall into the Scissor Lifts category. The JCB S2632E is a fully electric scissor lift with a working height of around 10 metres and a 250kg capacity, built with non-marking tyres and a roll-out deck extension, and compact enough to fit through a standard doorway. The larger JCB S2646E and S3246E extend this to around 12 metres of working height with 320kg capacity for two-person operation, while the S4046E and S4550E step up further to 14 and 16 metres. A used or new JCB working platform stands out for this combination of British engineering pedigree and a full electric scissor lift range built for indoor and light industrial work.
