The name GIANT belongs to Tobroco-Giant, founded in 1996 by Toine Brock, who began building agricultural equipment on his family farm in Haaren, Netherlands. After a setback in 2001 when foot-and-mouth disease halted production, Brock developed the idea for a multifunctional wheel loader based on his agricultural background, giving rise to the first GIANT compact wheel loader that same year. The company relocated to a larger production facility in Oisterwijk, which remains its global headquarters, and went on to develop a telescopic wheel loader in 2003, a compact telehandler in 2011, and a skid steer loader in 2014. GIANT reached North America in 2016 and, in celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2021, had grown to 25,000 machines produced and sales in 61 countries through a network of more than 750 dealers. Today Tobroco-Giant is recognised as a leading Dutch manufacturer of compact wheel loaders, telehandlers, and attachments.
